RSSI output signal
The receiver delivers an analog signal proportional to the receive signal strength (RSSI). This signal can be used by the system to select the best receiving radio in a network. Selection can be manual through the remote management system or automatic through the VCS.
Two criteria for squelch setting
The radio offers two squelch settings. The squelch opening can be based on the RF receive level or the signal-to-noise ratio of the audio signal. The customer can combine the two squelch criteria if desired.
Carrier override opens the squelch in the presence of a strong signal, also when the audio signal quality is poor. This means that no useful signals are lost.
